Hello There!
My name is Jessica and I am the Team Leader and Specialist Support Coordinator here at Sakura Connect! I hope to bring a dynamic and multifaceted perspective to my role, grounded in a profound passion for making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
With the recent completion of my double degree in Psychology and Criminology, I have continued with my passion to work in the disability sector. After completing my Cert IV in Disability in 2019, I've engaged in a variety of roles, including Community Facilitator, Educator, Deputy 2IC for an OSHC program, social media development and design, and Support Coordination.
This rich tapestry of experiences has nurtured my deep affinity for early intervention, behaviors of concern, and complex needs. It has granted me a holistic understanding of the intricate challenges faced by participants and their families.
These include but are not limited to:
My academic background has also enabled me to navigate complex challenges, such as how to navigate the disability sector and the sectors that interact with it. In this way I endeavour to guide individuals through their journey in overcoming barriers, finding independence and pursuing a greater quality of life. For this reason, I have been inspired to undertake further studies to complete my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology.
“Together, we can navigate the intricacies of the disability sector with empathy, expertise, and a shared vision of a brighter future”
